FAQ's
We can help answer your questions!
When should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 20 minutes early. If you arrive after your rides scheduled start time the ride may leave without you and you will not be eligible for a refund.
What Should I Wear/Bring?
Long pants, preferably jeans. Even when it’s hot, long pants are best. Saddle leather and skin do not go good together in humid hot temps (FRICTION). Wear hard soled shoes or boots (no sandals or crocs!). Other items you may want to bring are a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen. A small backpack or fanny pack are recommended if you want to bring any items on your ride. Phones and keys can easily fall out of pockets on a ride (ask me how I know!) which is why we recommend something with a zipper to keep them secure.
Do I need a helmet?
Safety first - helmets provided! Helmets are recommended for adults and required for minors.
Should I tip my guide?
Absolutely! Of course, that’s assuming you felt your guide did a great job. Most of our guides are college students or working part time jobs, your tips are much appreciated!
What are the ages that can go on the trail ride?
We do not enforce a certain age limit, but riders must be 52 inches or taller to participate in a guided ride.
Can my child ride the horse with me?
-
Unfortunately our insurance coverage does not allow double riding. Everyone must be on their own horse.
What are the height and weight requirements?
All riders must be at least 4'4" tall and able to safely reach the stirrups
Riders under 5'4" must weigh less than 185lbs
Riders under 6' tall must weigh less than 230lbs
Riders over 6' tall must weigh less than 250lbs
Do you offer private rides?
Private group rides are $400 for a one hour ride for up to 10 riders. The price is $400 whether there are 2 riders or 10. Call or e-mail us to schedule a private ride.
Do I need riding experience to participate
No. Our horses are gentle and taught to follow the horse in front. As long as you have adequate balance and meet our weight restrictions, you will do just fine.
Do you allow cantering/galloping?
No. However, if the guide feels that everyone looks balanced and comfortable on their horses, trotting your horse may be permitted.
What are the group sizes for horseback riding?

Our minimum is 2 riders, max is 10 riders.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours notice prior to your scheduled ride in order to receive a full refund.
What if a ride needs to be cancelled/rescheduled due to weather?
We will notify you if we need to cancel your scheduled ride due to inclement weather. At that time you may choose to reschedule your ride or receive a full refund.
